Did you know that drip, drip, drip coming from your leaky faucet can add up to 3+ gallons of water wasted each day? It’s time to put an end to that annoying sound and high water bill for good. Follow the simple steps below to fix your leaky faucet:
Start off by closing both the hot and cold water supply valves underneath your sink. Then turn on the faucet and let the remaining water drain out from the lines. Next, remove the handle by taking off the cap, removing the screw and lifting off the handle.
Take a look at the cap, you may just need to adjust the ring inside. But if this doesn’t solve the problem you’ll likely need to replace the faucet’s seat and springs.
To do so, remove the adjusting ring and the dome-shaped cap. Then pull out the round metal stem and ball. Remove the seats and springs (the small circular part and the piece beneath it) using an Allen wrench.
Insert a new set of seat and springs and then replace the ball assembly. Follow the first few steps, in reverse order, to reinstall the handle and test to see if your faucet still leaks.
If so, it may be time to call in the experts. The professional plumbers at ABC have years of experience in the field and no faucet leak is too big or too small for us!
